Avalon Ultra

Avalon Ultra can be embroidered with or without a frame. Avalon Ultra is extremely stable, meaning it can be intensively quilted without tearing. For all work that requires additional stability. The film is water-soluble, extra strong, transparent, extremely stable and can withstand intensive quilting.

Ideal for:

- large embroideries without an embroidery frame

- complex hand and computer embroidery

- etched embroideries

- lace embroidery

- as a top layer for thread technique

- for sandwich technique

Instructions for using Avalon Ultra:

Free machine embroidery: Cut Avalon Ultra to the desired length from the roll. Either stretch the film into an embroidery frame or embroider as desired without a frame. When embroidering, make sure that the stitches are still connected so that the embroidery does not come undone after washing the film. After embroidering, cut off the excess Avalon Ultra around the edges. Then wash the foil remnants in lukewarm water.

Lace embroidery: Either stretch Avalon Ultra (without fabric) into an embroidery frame or embroider without a frame. Then embroider any lace onto the foil as described above. Tip: You can also embroider the finished lace in other shapes or colors. To do this, carefully fix the parts with a little special glue (Madeira MSA 1100) on the Avalon Ultra beforehand. After embroidering, cut off the excess Avalon Ultra around the edges and wash off the foil remnants.

Textile collages in the sandwich technique: Place small pieces of fabric and/or various fiber remnants between two layers of Avalon Ultra. Tip: Carefully spray the bottom layer of Avalon Ultra with a little glue to bond the layers and prevent the fabric parts from shifting. If necessary, fix the layers with pins. Then embroider the parts as above. Wash the foil residue in lukewarm water.
