Bernina coverstitch machines

A Bernina coverstitch machine is designed for hemming, finishing the bottom edges of T-shirts, and completing garment edges. Coverstitch machines create stitches that differ significantly from those produced by overlockers; notably, they are the only type of machine capable of creating the coverstitch (often referred to as the "lingerie stitch"). From the front, this stitch appears as two or three parallel straight lines, while the underside features dense, interlocking stitching—hence the name "coverstitch." Additionally, coverstitch machines can create chain stitches. However, unlike a standard sewing machine, they cannot sew a basic straight seam; therefore, you will still need a regular sewing machine at home alongside your coverstitch machine.
