Janome coverstitch machines

A Janome coverstitch machine is designed for hemming, finishing the bottom edges of T-shirts, and completing garment edges. Coverstitch machines create stitches that differ entirely from those produced by overlockers; notably, they are the only type of machine capable of creating the coverstitch itself. From the front, this stitch appears as two or three parallel straight lines, while the back of the fabric is covered with dense stitching—hence the name "coverstitch." Additionally, coverstitch machines can create chain stitches. However, unlike a standard sewing machine, they cannot sew a basic straight seam; therefore, you will still need a regular sewing machine at home alongside your coverstitch machine.
