Starter set of backing materials and threads

The starter set includes:

• 1x Spoly 100/2 white bobbin thread, 10,000-meter spool, composition: 100% polyester; a thin, knot-free thread ideal for embroidery
• 30x GUNOLD Sulky embroidery threads, 1,000-meter spools, thread weight: 120D/2, material: 100% viscose
• 1x 0.8 m non-woven backing material, 70 g/m², white
• 1x 0.8 m non-woven backing material, 70 g/m², black

Backing materials are used to reinforce the base. They make the embroidered design stand out more clearly and prevent the fabric from being perforated or tearing during embroidery, especially with very delicate fabrics.

• 1x 1 m tear-away backing material, 40 g/m², white

Functions similarly to non-woven backing but can be torn away from the finished embroidery, allowing for a cleaner and easier finish on the underside of the embroidered item.

• 1x 1 m iron-on tear-away backing material, 40 g/m², white
• 1x 1 m iron-on tear-away backing material, 40 g/m², black

Features a shiny side that is placed against the fabric and ironed on. Suitable for stretchy materials (e.g., T-shirts) as it stabilizes the fabric during embroidery and can be torn away afterwards.

• 1x 1 m Aquina water-soluble embroidery film, 25μ

For embroidery on fabrics with a pile (e.g., terry towels); used as a topper (placed on top of the fabric)! The film holds down the material's pile during embroidery, ensuring the terry loops are neatly covered by the stitching and do not poke through. Once embroidery is complete, the film is torn away; any tiny remaining traces can simply be removed by steaming with an iron or washing.
