Leather belt 5 mm for old treadle machines. The size is individual, each machine is different, so it needs to be measured. The price is for 1 m of belt. We recommend ordering the belt a few cm longer.

How to properly connect a leather belt to a treadle sewing machine:

Shorten the belt to the required length according to the original belt, or by threading the belt through the machine and cutting it about 2 cm shorter after marking (the belt will stretch). Make a hole for the buckle at both ends (with a nail or small screwdriver) so that the size of the hole is proportional to the strength of the buckle and that it is preferably further from the edge and in the middle.

Putting the prepared belt on the sewing machine:

Untie the belt in the buckle and put it on the sewing machine so that it is correctly inserted into the mechanism for driving the treadle sewing machine. We connect the belt, but so that the bent part of the clip (the sharp part) is preferably on the inner peripheral side of the belt. We put the belt on the treadle of the sewing machine. We check whether the belt is adequately tensioned and whether it is not rubbing somewhere due to poor attachment. We close the clip with pliers so that it is well closed and the ends of the belt are correctly together.
