For this technique, we recommend lowering the feed dogs and guiding the fabric by hand. Important: Use the adjustment dial to set the presser foot pressure to match the thickness of the "patchwork sandwich," ensuring the sandwich can move smoothly without snagging. The adjustment dial also allows the foot to be used on machines that lack continuously adjustable presser foot pressure (3xx series) or do not have a "hover" position (5xx series).
