Instructions for sewing a placket into a seam:
1. Attach the placket foot.
2. Place the placket along the seam line from the right side of the fabric. Place the second fabric on top, right sides together.
3. Place the fabrics with the placket under the foot, the placket in the groove from the bottom of the foot. Sew with a straight stitch length of 2.5 mm. The groove in the foot will guide you as you sew the placket.
Making a placket from your own fabric:
1. Cut diagonal or cross strips of sufficient width to wrap the filling cord and the seam allowance.
2. Place the cord on the wrong side of the fabric and fold the fabric around the cord.
3. Place the fabric and cord under the foot with the cord in the groove at the bottom of the foot.
4. Sew. The groove guides the cord, which wraps evenly.
TIP: To sew this patch to a garment, adjust the needle position one position closer to the cord to hide the original stitch on the patch.
