The Pfaff Coverlock Flat Hem Foot is an optional accessory that can be purchased for the Pfaff 3.0 and 4.0 Coverlocks. The foot is used to sew lace or other decorative strips onto the surface of the fabric using a basting stitch.
Preparing the machine for using the Pfaff Coverlock Flat Hem Foot:
1. Set the machine to a wide basting stitch.
2. Attach the flat hem foot.
3. Use the default stitch settings. You can change the settings if you want.
4. Place the edge of the fabric in the bottom of the foot. Slide the fabric under the foot and under the needles.
5. Place the lace in the top right of the foot. Slide it back behind the needles so that a small piece protrudes beyond the foot. Sew.
Tip: You can use tweezers to position both the fabric and the lace in the correct position under the foot.
6. Lower the needles into the lace and into the fabric. Lower the presser foot.
7. While sewing, hold the fabric in your left hand and the lace or ribbon in your right.
